1. What is the Challenge about in a nutshell?
The E2theMax Challenge boosts businesses with a hands-on demonstration of effectiveness.
We get the right minds collaborating with each other and the owner/decision-maker. We inspire experts to contribute time, talent and resources throughout 12-weeks of hands-on teamwork, and we showcase both the boosted businesses and the suppliers that step up. In doing this, we role model business development that's effective and rewarding on many levels, and inspire more businesses to reach for their potential.

2. What's in it for the owners and the experts?

FOR OWNERS the Challenge can be the experience of a business lifetime 1) getting this high level of expertise around you 2) experiencing whole-of-business thinking and input that would otherwise cost tens of thousands of dollars and require you to put it all together 3) gaining extensive local, regional and nationwide exposure for your boosted business.
FOR THE EXPERTS this is a sales-free, real-world opportunity to meet and work with motivated and engaged owners. As a two-way evaluation opportunity, the Challenge allows suppliers to showcase their skills and resources in a very practical way - investing time, expertise and resources in great businesses that could be great long term clients.

3. Is the E2theMax Challenge available where we are?
YES. Wherever you are situated in New Zealand you can apply for the opportunity. The E2theMax Challenge is available nationwide with support from:
Air New Zealand who are supporting this country's smaller and medium-sized businesses, sponsoring return air travel for up to 20 owners (or their nominated decision-maker) to attend the to Masterclass and Reveal Events.
Millennium Institute the high-performance sports institute in Mairangi Bay. Their conference centre is our venue partner again in 2010.
NZ Business magazine which is available throughout the country, by subscription or from magazine and book stores. NZ Business magazine lives up to its name as a top supporter of businesses nationwide. As a great supporter of E2theMax and the Challenge NZ Business raises awareness of the oppportunity, our progess and each year's winning businesses.

for details of the $2300 in services all applicants can experience.
All applicant businesses that are selected to participate (this year up to 50 nationwide) will experience a significant boost, starting with $15,800 in marketing-lead expertise, workshops and business promotion.  With extensive access to a group of highly-regarded experts, working collaboratively with a whole-of-business focus, each participant has the opportunity to pitch for up to $60,000 in contributed expertise and services to be worked in to their business throughout a 12-week boost. This is followed with extensive promotion of each boosted business at the Challenge 2010 Reveal Event, in this year’s Challenge publication and online at www.E2theMax.biz.

All participating businesses
are also quickly and proactively connected to a growing nationwide network of people who are highly-regarded for who they are, how they operate and what they provide in business. If you're looking to expand inside or outside your region, this is a great benefit of the Challenge experience.

5. What is the time commitment?
The Challenge does require time but we focus totally on effectiveness and teamwork, good planning and project management for best results. It's a long programme to ensure time for good thinking and investigation, business as usual to take place and great headway to be made.

6. How is the Challenge funded?

Jacqui Jones has invested in the development of the Online Expo and the Challenge and has worked fulltime on E2theMax since late 2006. "We've been advised that operating as a not-for-profit organisation could mean we are eligible for some funding, but the self-determination of business ownership is important to us. Building up a sound commercial model without reliance on funding improves certainty and sustainability for E2theMax and the participating businesses. So like every established and growing business, we're making sure that we offer a compellingly good service that is well worth the fee investment," says Jacqui.

E2theMax earns its income from application and participation fees:
Applicant businesses pay just $250 + GST at the time of application and can redeem coupon 1 (value up to $2,300).
If selected to participate, the fee is $2,700 + GST and coupons 2 and 3 can be redeemed (value up to $13,500 and up to $60,000 respectively).
Experts
pay $2,950 + GST to take part and will determine their contributions to the participating businesses depending on what is pitched for and the long-term opportunity this represents.
Supporter's (suppliers of products and services that improve business and professional effectiveness) fees and/or contributions are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

7. 2008/2009, $1,000,000 plus in contributions...
Since 2008, E2theMax has negotiated around $1,000,000 in expertise, product and service contributions to boost privately-owned businesses.

8. How do we join the team and showcase our expertise?

"What other event is there that brings so many businesses together all with
the same goal - to develop and nurture the selected businesses so that the
changes they experience are not just cosmetic, but wide-reaching and infrastructural? That is just what this
Challenge has provided. These businesses, can continue to look back on this experience and know that it did
make a difference." Wendy Schollum, MD, Xplore.net.
