The National Bank's customers said they wanted help with more than banking and their bank has certainly delivered with a specialised collecton of free online resources and interactive planning tools supported by over 300 business seminars run annually throughout the country. What started as a customer-responsive initiative has been peer-reviewed for excellence in business support, with The National Bank winning the Corporate >$10m category and being judged Overall Winner of the Vero Excellence in Business Support Awards 2006 for 'outstanding contribution to small business banking services'.

  NZ Fashion Technology Ltd benefits from Big Help

Val Marshall-Smith and I from NZ Institute of Fashion Technology (NZ Fashion Tech) have been very grateful for the professional development workshops we have had offered us by The National Bank this year. We have used them to upskill ourselves but the major benefits gained have been with our management team who we have selected appropriate workshops for. This has greatly assisted us to improve our teams’ efficiency and, as importantly, our profitability after three
years where
we were under siege by a particularly difficult and expensive employ-
ment wrongful d
ismissal case bought against us (we finally won).

The workshops have helped us to remove the last of the destructive
people and rebuild a happy and loyal team again for the betterment of our students and our very poor financial situation.The usual costs of upskilling staff are not possible when a business is under extreme financial pressures and The National Bank’s workshops fit the bill perfectly. We were invited guests of the Knowledge Gym at the Vero Business awards night (they were also a section winner) and were so proud of the Bank’s winning of the major prize as we had already experienced the advantages of your workshops.
